Losi, T-maxx, Savage, Model engine tuning HELP!!!?
Ok, I have worked with 6 model engines through out my life, all with good results. Today I got out my old Losi GTX stadium truck and the engine is not getting any gas. I mean NONE is coming through the fuel line.
Ive been through the carb to make sure theres no obstructions and everythings is clean and working smoothly. What in the world could be keeping the fuel from reaching the carb? Its as if the engine has no suction. I have never seen this before. Anyone have an idea?
Ok, I tried full choke with my finger on the air intake for about three seconds and still not sucking in any gas. There is a fuel filter in the tank, but I bypassed it for this test to rule out a clog in the filter. It is in the engine somewhere.
You could not have enough engine compression. You could have an exhaust leak. You could have the needle valve set way tooooooo lean. You could have a pinhole leak in the fuel line which would make fuel not flow. You could have the fuel line starting or going to the wrong inlets/outlets.
Start by replacing the fuel line and check your connections.
Fatten up the fuel mixture.
Check all the bolts on the motor and make sure nothing is loose.
Try again.
