Sprinter Trueno

Is it possible to buy an AE86 Toyota Trueno Sprinter in the U.S. ?
Is it possible to buy an AE86 Toyota Trueno Sprinter in the U.S. ? Cuz it seems like a car i want by watching initial d
Although "Iggy" did have the SR5, he also had a Levin. Which were never sold in the United States. The Levin has the non pop up headlights. However you can get them for your car if you did want them. But as stated you can get a Corolla GT-S which is americas version of the trueno, but the only ones that are rear wheel drive and hatchbacks like Taks Trueno were sold in 1985 and 1986. They are very hard to find, and often expensive. The GT-S is offered as a Coupe as well, but they dont look any where near the same as the hatchbacks. They do have pop ups though. All Corolla GT-S's in the United States were sold with the 4A-GE, but Tak had a 4A-GEU which was also never offered in the U.S. Corollas. The engine Tak had is referred to as a "Small Port" 4A-GE, and all U.S. 4A-GE's are "Big Ports" and have T-VIS (Toyota - Variable Induction System) So we didnt get all the goodies that Japan did. But you can get pretty close. The big port and small port, acheive about the exact amount of power, it is pretty close at least. So dont worry about that, you wont notice the difference, well except that the T-VIS makes the car 'feel' MUCH faster over 4000 rpm.
Also the Trueno was made in the U.S. until 1990/91 I dont beleive they were ever called 91's though. After 1987 they switched to front wheel drive, and re-styled the body, for a rounder "sexier" look. The GT-S retained all of its options pop up headlights, and uniuqeness, and even the 4A-GE, however it was now front wheel drive, and less of a drifting car. I have owned many different GT-S Corollas and they are ALL great cars. You will have an easier time finding a Front Wheel drive GT-S, and it will be cheaper.
Also, you can buy ALL of the JDM decals and badging so that your Corolla GT-S says Trueno Sprinter GT-Apex, heck you can even buy an SR5 and convert it to a GT-S. You have alot of options, I suggest investigating them.
