Savage Edge versus Savage 200?
I need a .223 rifle for 400yrds and I like Savage,I have several of them already. I have it narrowed down to either Savage 200 xp or Savage edge. I have read reviews of the Edge and XP next to each other,and well... The Edge looks "unpolished",not as in shiny,but rough around the edges. But as this was online and not in person I don't put to much stock in this,but It raises concerns. I really don't care about paying $100 more for the xp. Also IF you know of a .223 bolt action with iron sights,under $350 I would appreciate your input(It is for my nephew). Thanks!

I was at Dunham's the other day. They had scoped Stevens 200's for $299.99. I don't care for the Edge's "one size fits all" action. That goes beyond cost cutting, it's just cheap. The Edge smells much like the Remington 710/770... The Stevens 200 has (most) parts interchangeability with the Savage 110/111 series.
