How much to replace a Saxo rear suspension bush?
My freinds citroen saxo has just passed its MOT but it has an advisory for some play in a rear suspension bush. does anyone know how much this is likely to cost and is it worth it at this stage or should she wait untill next years MOT and see how bad it is then. it is only an advisory and she hasn't noticed anything when driving it.
As with any safety relate componenet it should be changed asap, the cost wont be that much and its hard to give an accurate estimate as labour prices vary so much from garage to garage, the bush wont be too expensive but i woul reccomend getting this changed as the bush can fail at anytime and also cause excessive tyre wear and well, especially as when a vehicle is mot'd the tester cannot fail a component unless it is within 2% of becoming unservicable, this shocked me as this was mentioned to me 2 years ago when i went for an interview with VOSA to become a technical trainer (i turned the job down in the end as i wasnt happy at that sort of standard) so i would advise replacement asap, also with the bush your friend could actually try and buy the bush themselves it doenst have to be a manufacturers part it can be a pattern part from companies like firstline, Q&H, or any other supplier like that as of 2005 you can fit parts like that and not invalidate any warrenty as long as the component is of suitable quality
