Calculate Gear Ratio? What is the formula... Known MPH, Tire Diameter, Engine RPM, and Rear End Gea?
I need to calculate Transmission gear ratio
please help me solve this
MPH = 100
RPM = 5820
Tire Diameter = 26.33 Inches
Rear End Gear = 3.9:1
I know I can use the info to calculate final gear ratio somehow, and then I can use that and the rear end gear to get the transmission ratio...
but I cant remember any of the formulas

no...its a formula using exactly what I stated....
I know I've seen it before...and I know it doesnt need to convert to anything other than what I have listed above... MPH, RPM, Tire Diameter Inches.....
I just cant remember the actual formula
convert mph to inches per minute
diameter to circumference
and make sure that the units work out all the way through.
