Magnetic Backing, an Alternative to Traditional Custom Lapel Pin Closures and Clasps
You may like the concept of wearing a lapel pin to promote your business, organization or group, but do not like the idea of having pin holes in your favorite articles of clothing. This is a common concern for many of our customers. Fortunately, Lapel Pins Plus offers a solution to this dilemma with its magnetic backing option.
Good News About Magnets
Magnets have become a popular choice for a lot of custom lapel pin orders. Aside from preventing damage to clothing and other articles, customers have taken advantage of magnetic backing for the following reasons:
- · Strong Hold. Some still find it hard to believe that a magnetic lapel pin will stay in place, especially during fast paced activities and movements. The fact of the matter is our magnets all have a strong hold.
- · Frequency of Use. Magnets are great for customized lapel pins that are only used temporarily like church or organization pins which are only worn once a week or during special events.
- · Balance and Appearance. Magnetic backs are proportionately sized for the pins they support. What this means is you don't have to worry about your lapel pin leaning to one side or the other, allowing its appearance to remain balanced and professional.
- · Not Limited to Wear. Lapel pins with magnetic backs are perfect for attaching to filing cabinets and other types of metal furniture which serves two purposes. The first is a convenient and safe place to store your pins when not in use, the other can simply be for adornment.
Our Magnet Types
We offer two types of magnetic options for customers to choose from, the round magnet and the bar magnet.
The round magnet consists of two round pieces. One piece is glued to the back of the pin and the other piece is the part that goes on the inside of the garment. This type of magnet is often referred to as a clothing magnet. It is the best and most common choice for everyday use, work and uniform lapel pins.
Then there is our bar magnet. This type is made for wide lapel pins. Its large contact area provides an even stronger hold. It is made up of two circular magnets that are fixed to the back of the pin. To wear lapel pins, the bar is removed and placed on the inside of the garment. The pin is held in place by the attraction between the bar and the two circles.
The next time you find yourself considering lapel pins, but are hesitant due to potential damage to your clothing; just remember that a traditional pin back is not your only option.
