Light Bars for Multi-Purpose Lighting
To start us off, strobe and LED light bars have proven time and time again to be a popular choice for multi-purpose lighting, and with good reason. A light bar is simply put, an elongated dome that may either contain one color or type of lighting or various ones. Flashing light is one of the properties consistent with light bars. Strobe lights use bright halogen bulbs and are the more traditional of the two. Strobe technology is very similar to that used in flash photography. LED light bars on the other hand are the newest technology in multi-purpose lighting. They are the better option as compared to strobe lights. LED lights use light-emitting diodes that are bundled up to produce a magnificent and wide array of flash patterns. This is just one of the reasons that LED light bars are superior to strobe lights. LED light bars also last longer than strobe, and can handle being alight for long periods of time without burning out. The heat emitted by LED's is also minimal, posing less risk to flammable material that may be around the light bars when it is in use.
One of the common uses of light bars is for use on emergency vehicles to signal their approach and to convey the message of urgency on the road. Emergency vehicles have light bars that are normally mounted on the roof, and may or may not be used in conjunction with a siren. These are turned on when the vehicle is responding to an emergency. light bars on emergency vehicles are not limited to those mounted on the vehicle, as there are those that are portable, and may be concealed to hide the identity of the emergency vehicle. This is most common on unmarked police cars or cars used by volunteer emergency workers.

What brand bull/light bar should i get for my truck?
I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma and I want to get a bull bar or a light bar for it. I offroad alot and i'm tired of getting dings and scratches on the bottom of my bumper and it would be nice to have some extra lights for dark nights. I really like the Westin ultimate bull bar and the Westin safari light bar. I only have around $200 to spend. What brand and model do you think i should get for my truck?
