Best Methods for Picking Quality Large Appliances
How do you decide which large appliances are best for your home? Shop in a variety of stores, on the internet, read consumer reviews and think back to your own experiences. The most important thing is that you need to make sure to consider what your present needs are and that you choose an appliance that will best serve those needs. Let's look at some ways to choose the large appliances that are right for you.
Before you spend money on a new large appliance, you need to ask yourself which features you want. If you need a new kitchen range, oven or refrigerator, for example, you have to consider what size appliance you need and what you will be using it for. It's easy to get tempted by lots of fancy features when you're in shopping mode but you need to be practical otherwise you will end up spending a whole lot of money on stuff that you won't use. No matter which appliance you're thinking of buying, make sure you make a list of very important features that you want the appliance to have as well as a list of size requirements. This way you won't have to worry about whether the machine you have purchased is too much for you and your home.
For those who want to spend as little money as possible buying something used can be a great way to do that. You can usually find appliances that have been used but are still in good condition; just be careful. You can look in the classifieds of your local newspaper, or online on sites such as Craigslist. If you want to buy an appliance that is used you can usually ask to test it out before handing over money for it. However, when you buy from a private party, you won't be getting any kind of warranty, so you have to use your judgement based on how the appliance looks and the reputation of the brand. If you are very careful you can save lots and lots of money by buying an used appliance.
When you shop for large appliances you will need to think about a bunch of things like price, size, appearance and special features. When your budget is small it is only natural to seek out the least expensive machine that you can find. However, it's not always the best policy to buy the cheapest item you can find. It's one thing to stumble upon a stellar sale or a high quality used machine but sometimes the biggest bargain can end up costing you the most money of all if repairs are needed or if it ends up needing to be replaced quickly. The better option is to buy the best machine your budget can afford so that you have a better chance of it lasting a long time.
Large appliances can be great for making life simpler but they can also be very expensive and take up a whole lot of space. When you choose the right brand or model, however, you can save quite a lot of money--as long as you don't overshoot your needs or spacial freedom. The above guidelines on buying large appliances should be helpful when you shop for your next refrigerator, washing machine or vacuum cleaner. Don't forget that the more research you do before you buy your appliance the easier it will be for you to make the right choice.

Should I sell my large lot of GI Joe on eBay or Craigslist?
I have a large lot of GI Joe that ways about ten pounds. I was about to list it on eBay, but my brother said that it would cost an "arm and a leg" to ship. He didn't think that many people would be willing to pay the large shipping price. He said Craigslist might work better because you can sell to local people only.
Rather than thinking it is eBay or craiglist - think of them as both strategies to use.
First - list on eBay. Set the price high. If they do not sell, then realist them at a lower price. I would list and relist several times. Don't worry about shipping -- not a big deal - just include in the listing.
Then, I you feel you are not getting anywhere, list on craigslist.
