Pumps are used throughout society for a variety of purposes. Early applications include the use of the windmill or watermill to pump water. Today, the pump is used for irrigation, water supply, gasoline supply, air conditioning systems, refrigeration as compressor, chemical movement, sewage movement, flood control, marine services, etc.
One sort of pump once common worldwide was a hand-powered water pump, or 'pitcher pump'. It would be installed over a community water well that was used by people in the days before piped water supplies. Water from pitcher pumps is drawn directly from the soil; it is more prone to contamination. If such water is not filtered and purified, consumption of it might lead to gastrointestinal or other water-borne diseases.
Because of the wide variety of applications, pumps have a plethora of types, shapes and sizes: from very large to very small, from handling gas to handling liquid, from high pressure to low pressure, and from high volume to low volume. We are discussing about mainly three types of pumps like submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps, Deepwell Turbine Pumps
Submersible Pump
The submersible pump is the most popular of pump types in the industry. It is still a centrifugal pump, but can be much more efficient than an average above-ground jet pumping system. They can be used to pump water for small cabins or large cities. In a submersible pump, the pump and motor are both submerged in the water. This allows for a huge benefit because now the energy goes into pushing the water instead of, like typical centrifugal pumps, combating gravity and atmospheric pressure to pump the water. Submersible pumps are available in wide range from 77mm bore diameter to 250mm bore diameter like 77mm diameter Submersible bore well, 100mm diameter Submersible bore well, 130mm diameter Submersible bore well, 150mm diameter Submersible bore well, 175mm diameter Submersible bore well, 200mm diameter Submersible bore well, 250mm diameter Submersible bore well.
Submersible pumps are found in many applications. Single stage pumps are used for drainage, sewage pumping, general industrial pumping and slurry pumping. They are also popular with aquarium filters. Multiple stage submersible pumps are typically lowered down a borehole and used for water abstraction or in water wells.
Centrifugal Pumps
The Centrifugal Pump is made for coupling with electric motor, high speed diesel engine. The direction of rotation is anti-clockwise viewing from drivers end. The pump is rigid in construction, vibration proof and easy handling. The pump is supported with robust ball bearings and Tapper Roller bearings as per customer's requirements. A centrifugal pump works by converting kinetic energy into potential energy measurable as static fluid pressure at the outlet of the pump. Various types of centrifugal pumps include NDCV centrifugal pump, TCD centrifugal pump, TDCS centrifugal pump, TDSV centrifugal pump and many such pumps.
A centrifugal pump containing two or more impellers is called a multistage centrifugal pump. The impellers may be mounted on the same shaft or on different shafts. If we need higher pressure at the outlet we can connect impellers in series. If we need a higher flow output we can connect impellers in parallel. Centrifugal pumps are used for large discharge through smaller heads.
Deepwell Turbine Pump
Turbine water pump is used for various applications, such as pumping water for irrigation, fire fighting, hydroelectricity, and treatment of wastewater. The major advantage of the turbine water pump is its low revolutions per minute, or RPM, with a high and constant head. This feature enables the use of these pumps for the continuous pumping of water from deep wells. There are two types of Deepwell turbine pumps are available in the market 1. Deepwell Turbine Pump –Caprari 2. Deepwell Turbine Pump Desteco Alta Nemitsas. Deepwell or Vertical turbine pumps are specially fabricated for pumping water from wells. Vertical turbine pumps are less expensive than submersible turbine pumps with small diameters due to easily available spare parts for Deepwell turbine pumps. These pumps consist of open or semi-open impellers.

Could a stray balloon get caught in a plane or jet turbine?
You know, those balloons that end up floating into the sky and eventually pop when they get too high. But do they go high enough so that they could get caught in a plane or jet turbine? If that did happen, could the plane or jet crash as a result?

well if it got sucked into the engine it wouldn't cause much damage as long as it wasn't a large balloon. it would melt it would be once the plane has landed and it hardens from cooling it would be a bother but up in the air it shouldn't cause much of a bother.
the biggest problem with plane accidents is actually birds, getting sucked into the engines or hitting the windshields and breaking them.
but it rarely happens now.
