Hydroplane Boat Plans - A Cheap and Easy to Build Hydroplane Plan for You
Are you looking for good hydroplane boat plans? What is your requirement? Are you looking for one which is very cheap and easy to make? Here, I am telling you about a type of a hydroplane which can be made in just a day without much expenses.
These are fast outboard – powered planes mainly used for water sports on protected waters. The inventor of these hydroplanes termed them as ‘minimax', as they require tme to build and give maximum performance and water-sport fun. Seasoned boat builders make changes according to their requirements and make their version of ‘minimax'.
This is one of the simplest hydroplane boat plans. Because of simple design a minimax can be made in a day. It is around 8 ft long and 70 lbs in weight. One man can easily hold it on a car top It has a watertight air compartment that support 900 lbs. even with the cockpit completely filled with water. Fiberglass tape on all seams makes the hull completely watertight. Depending on the motor you use you can achieve a speed up to around 40 mph.
To construct it, you require two 8 ft long, 4 ft wide and ¼ in thick plywood pieces. Frame is held to an absolute minimum with plywood sinkstressed to offer greatest strength to weight ratio. The hull is developed on the plywood as the work progresses. So, it does not require any building form. The motor board consists of two pieces 1×8 in. stock, edge glued and sandwiched between two layers of ¼ in. plywood.
I will strongly recommend you keep it under consideration, if you are looking for simple hydroplane plans.

very nice but because it's not sold by a regular retail store the common courtesy is 1/3 off. doesn't matter if it's new generally wont sell unless you take 1/3 off. it could sell eventually but then again that'd be taking a gamble. see this boat has a new model yearly, so once the 2012 comes out this thing will plummet. $700-900 is your optimal price, but i believe if you were looking to get one in the first place (Like you were at a remote control boat convention) then it might be worth just hanging onto. it's very high quality!
