I'm marrying a marine and we want a Spring wedding. I have no idea where to start with picking out colors.?
I don't know if I should try and have a color scheme that matches part of his dress blues or if I should just go for spring colors and not worry about it? Also, the church we're getting married in has dark purple carpet and chairs. The walls are off white/pastel yellow.
We may even consider an early February wedding depending on if he must answer the call to duty.
Start with your favorite color. Then chose a shade that will be spring-like. It doesn't have to coordinate with his dress blues.
Also, the way I did it was I went to David's bridal. My favorite color is blue, so I only picked dresses for my bridesmaid to try on that came in blue and were also a style I liked (no halter tops, tea length instead of floor length). This narrowed things down to about 20 or so dresses. She looked good in a dress that was a certain color (marine blue, coincidentally). Then, I had all the bridesmaids chose a dress that was pre-approved by me in the same length and shade of blue. It looked very good.
It was basically navy blue, so I coordinated things around the bridesmaids dresses.
