Controlling Mosquitoes Is Necessary To Prevent Life-Threatening Disease
In the spring and summer, we not only need to be concerned about termite control but also mosquitoes. There always comes a time of year when people start complaining of being bitten or stung when they are out-of-doors. In the home, this can get out of hand when these stinging insects invade and even wake people up at night. Most of us have protective nets on windows and doors these days, but there is also a need for a pest control expert to come in and spray for these bugs too. The experts are there to make sure that these blood sucking creatures do not spread malaria etc since this can be quite dangerous for sure.
Although not every stinging pest is capable of carrying malaria, the ones that do should be avoided at all costs. This illness is a killer in third world countries and it is fast becoming dangerous in this one too. Hot and humid places will always have these pests around and they usually strike at any time between dusk and dawn.
The female of the species will need blood to provoke the laying of eggs. She will also need a stagnant water supply to lay them also. She will find her source of blood by sensing the breath expelled from animals or humans. She is not fussy about blood as long as she gets some. If she sucks blood from someone who has malaria, this tiny parasite is transferred from one subject to another in the process of sucking blood. The parasite is too big for her to suffer from this disease herself, but she does pass it on to whoever she comes into contact with. The males are vegetarian so they are left out of this process completely. However, it is the male that emits that high pitched whining noise that people hate so much.
Malaria itself shows up like a dose of flu. The person will feel aching in the joints and generally under the weather. Very often they will compound the problem by just taking some cold medicine and going to bed. However, anyone who has been to a country where this disease is prevalent, and feels this kind of symptom up to one month after they return, should immediately seek help from a facility which specializes in tropical medicine.
Closer to home though, the experts are available to spray for these pests around the home and garden. Anything which is holding stagnant water, like old tires or bird baths which are neglected, should be emptied out and removed. Long grass or wild areas should be cropped and soggy areas in the garden should be drained as much as possible. Even fish ponds may have to be removed if the problem persists but this is better than putting everyone at risk. The spraying is usually done every few months and it is a good idea to get a permanent contract going so that no one forgets to book the appointments. Companies who are booked up a year in advance often give discounts since they can plan their workload better so do not be afraid to ask about this.
