Balance pH in the Body
Many of us do not know what pH balance is. Also, we do not know that it is a very important thing for us. Let me discuss pH first. pH is a term used in chemistry, to define the amount of acidity in water-based solutions. Pure water has a pH level of near 7.0. If a solution has a pH level below 7, the solution is acidic. If the solution has a pH balance above 7, it is considered alkaline solution. pH balance is a very important thing. It is not only used in chemistry. The body has pH levels too. The pH level in the human body plays a very important part. As our body is full of water, it is very important that we have proper pH balance in our body. The human body has a water percentage of 70%. It means more than half of our weight comes from the bodily fluids in the body.
Most of us do not know the results of a bad balancein the body. The human body is made of tiny cells. The amount of these cells exceeds billions. These cells are keeping us alive. These cells are alkaline in nature. They must maintain a healthy level of alkaline in order to function properly. These cells use acid as energy. The main activities of these cells are to participate in creating acid. Acid and alkaline both are very important for humans to survive. If the body does not have a well maintained balance, the cells will take minerals out of our organs to sustain its alkaline level. The cells use minerals and vitamins (which is used by vital organs) to maintain it alkaline level, and it in returns the body is living but left unnourished. When the cells work they create metabolic waste material. This metabolic waste is acid. This metabolic waste is also used by the cells as its energy. If these acids build up then the balance is hampered, and it in turns, gives rise to the acids in the body. If these acids build up too much, they can acts like poison.
The body is always fighting to keep the acid level minimum in our body. Scientists think that the first line of defense of body against disease is the immune system, but in reality, the pH balance is the first line of defense. Whoever has a good pH level has the best resistance against disease. Having an acidic pH level can cause many kinds of problems. Many diseases are directly related with ph imbalance. In this fast time most our food is high in acidic content. Most of drinks cold drink every day. These drinks are creating high amounts of acids in the body. Fried foods are also highly acidic. Pollution in the air is also increasing acid levels on our body. Our modern lifestyle is hampering pH balance in the body. Fast food, fizzy drinks and pollution are causing a severe effect on our ph levels. We should try to minimize the buildup of acid in our system. We should try to eat healthy food and maintain a proper ph level.
