Pontiac Ball Joint: for Steering Linkage Support and Better Handling Control
Pontiac is known for its powerful line up of vehicles that have been earning an impressive reputation since their first debut in the automotive industry more than eight decades ago. The exceptional driving experience they provide can be attributed to the various high performance car components attached to them. Among the various group of components that contributes greatly in the over all performance of your car on the road is the suspension system. This group of car parts serves the main function of preventing your car from shaking into pieces every time it goes through bumpy roads. Aside from that, the suspension system also keeps your car easily maneuverable after a bump, providing you with an excellent control of your car. Because of their vital function, these groups of car parts are considered to be among the integral parts of your car. As a system, it is made up of various parts that play a unique role in performing its collective function. Every part is very much important, since the failure of one or more of its components to function properly could affect your ride and handling.
Among the various parts comprising your suspension system is the Pontiac ball joint. This car component contributes two basic functions in your vehicle. One is by supporting the entire weight of your vehicle. Another is by serving as pivot points between the suspension and your tires. In some cases, this suspension component can also help in setting the wheel alignment, depending upon the specifications of the vehicle. As a steering linkage support, your Pontiac ball joint allows your wheels and tires to be easily maneuvered because it links the front axle to the wheels. You can usually locate this car component at the front end of your car. However, the number of ball joints installed on your ride depends upon the type of suspension system that you are using. Conventional suspension systems are equipped with a lower ball joint and an upper ball joint. On the other hand, MacPherson strut suspension systems are made up of an upper strut bearing and a single lower ball joint.
Your Pontiac ball joint is able to effectively perform its intended function because of the sub components comprising it. Basically, it is made up a bearing, hardened-steel, and socket that are protected in a steel housing. The housing is of socket-type construction to keep your ball joints properly protected from damage-causing elements like dirt and water. Some ball joints can be lubricated, while others are”lubed for life”, which means they cannot be lubricated. If your Pontiac ball joint comes with a lubrication fitting, then it is highly advisable that you keep it properly lubricated especially during oil change. Failed ball joints can be attributed to accumulated dirt. Lowered cars can also be a candidate for a possible ball joint failure. You can tell that your ball joints are damaged if you have been experiencing some wandering, knocking noise, erratic steering, and uneven tire wear. When this happens, do not think twice on replacing the worn out ball joints of your Pontiac with a new one in order to maintain the excellent ride control and handling of your car.

When you throw a ball up in a car?
When you throw a ball up in a car, is that ball going the same speed as the car? (if it isnt and its going 0mph, wouldnt it come back and hit you in the face?) then if you throw the ball in the opposite direction that the car is going, is it decelerating? i thought about this for a while and it makes no sense to me.
Yes, when you throw a ball up in the car it is traveling the same speed as you therefore it doesn't hit you in the face. By throwing it backwards all you are doing is taking away some of its forward velocity away. For instance if you are traveling at 60mph and you throw the ball backwards (in the car) at 10mph then its forward velocity to an outside observer would still be 50mph. Just because you throw it backwards in the car does not mean that the ball is no longer traveling forward. It is interesting you bring this up because this is a very key concept in Einstein's relativity. This is how he envisioned relativity.
